In honor of 9/11 and our presentation that is taking place on Friday - the entire school needs to dress in red, white, and blue / American flags and anything patriotic on Friday.
Bus drivers are often the first and last school representative a student sees each day. Their role is more than transportation—it’s about care, consistency, and connection. We’re proud to celebrate them in a powerful and meaningful way. Big shout out and huge thanks to the HCS Bus Drivers – our dedicated warriors of the road!!

The Book Fair is coming to our school next week! Parents are welcome to shop on Thursday during their student's related arts time. Related arts times are as follows 5th grade 8:05-9:00, 4th grade 9:30-10:25, 3rd grade 10:25-11:20, Kindergarten 12:05-1:00, 1st grade 1:05-2:00, and 2nd grade 2:05-3:00. Visit https://www.scholastic.com/bf/stclairelementaryschool1 to set up your child's eWallet. Thanks!

Attendance in early grades builds a foundation for students in later grades. Students gain positive habits, strong academic foundations, and confidence to succeed throughout school. Research shows a direct correlation to chronic absenteeism and reading levels in 3rd grade!

Monday, September 1, 2025 Hawkins County Schools will be closed for Labor Day. Have a safe and happy Labor Day Weekend.

We had 100% attendance yesterday! We celebrated with everyone with a short dance party and Airheads! Let's keep this great attendance going!

For 2025-26, Hawkins County Schools will focus on positive attendance and its impact on student success, now and in the future. We want to partner with you to ensure your child is in school, learning what they need to thrive as adults. Chronically Absent is 10% or more days per school year (excused or unexcused). At 5 or more unexcused absences a meeting with school staff will be scheduled. Students have 5 days to turn in parent and doctor notes. Each student may have 6 parent notes and 10 doctor notes per year. Students with 10 unexcused absences in a row or a total of 15 unexcused absences will lose their driving privileges.

School begins on Monday, August 4, 2025. Dismissal on the first day will be 11:30am.

We can’t wait to welcome students back to our cafeterias! And, great news – Breakfast and Lunch will be FREE again for students for the 2025-26 school year!

Parents/guardians may add money to accounts by cash or check at school or online at www.myschoolbucks.com for a nominal fee. My School Bucks is also a great tool to monitor purchases for free!
Please encourage your child to participate in the meal program! High participation helps keep our meals FREE for everyone!
