District Announcement: Hawkins County students will be bringing homework packets for future virtual days, if needed. In the event our school or school system is closed due to inclement weather for longer periods of time, the information in this packet may be used during a virtual instruction period. Please hold on to this packet and save for such a purpose. Thank you for your cooperation and support. Please remember to monitor the HCS App and the HCS website for updates regarding weather-related school-system operational changes.

Let’s make this Thanksgiving special for our community!

Chronically absent counts all absences: excused, unexcused, and suspensions and has a high negative impact on school success. Students who miss more than 10% of the school year are considered chronically absent.
Truancy is unexcused absences only. Families who continue to be truant will be required to attend a meeting with school officials and possibly a court appearance.
