Mrs. Sands dressed as a turkey posing with students

St. Clair Elementary School celebrated literacy in grand, autumnal style last week with its "Fall in Love with Reading and Writing" Family Literacy Night. We had a good turnout of students and their families. The school gym was transformed into a festive fall scene, where attendees rotated through interactive stations that centered on Thanksgiving-themed books, writing and reading comprehension. At one station, students flexed their artistic muscle with a very cool pumpkin painting. And let's not forget the highlight of the evening where our very own Mrs. Sands strutted her stuff as a turkey to further illustrate the read-aloud story! Family literacy night is so special, not only for promoting literacy but also for strengthening the bond between the school and the community. Thank you to all the families who joined us!
